Aurora Colorado Shooting

I like many of you were shocked by the events of July 20th, 2012 in Aurora Colorado.  My eyes were glued to the TV as details came out about the shooting at the Century 16 Theater and the innocent victims of the unbelievable attack.  It took me several hours to even break my silence and make comments on Facebook and it will likely take even more time to grasp the depth of the tragedy that took place.

Concealed Wisconsin would like to offer Wisconsin’s condolences to the victims and families of those who lost their lives in this terrible tragedy.  Twelve individuals murdered and so many others whose lives will never be the same again.  We hope and pray for your speedy recoveries and physical and emotional healing.

In the coming days after this tragedy, there will undoubtedly those who will try to politicize it for their own agenda.  They’re will be attempts to make guns the enemy and take the focus off the evil that perpetuated this crime.  Concealed Wisconsin hopes our community can remain civil and keep a  respectful tones as people try to put their lives back together.

As it is appropriate, yes, we will begin to evaluate and debate the specifics of this event as they pertain to gun owners and concealed carry in Wisconsin and America.

We will continue to defend our constitutional rights to bear arms and discuss the realities of our current system .  We will expose the flawed thinking of anti-gun persons who declare fault with the gun and not the individual who used the gun that should be responsible.

We will continue to follow this story and learn from the tragedy in hindsight.  We will continue to encourage Law Abiding citizens to legally arm themselves, to protect themselves and others from having to experience this carnage themselves.

We will continue to promote the “Sheep Dog Concept” and promote standing in the gap for others who are unable to protect themselves.

We will continue to promote obeying the law, being a good person, and being prepared.  We will continue to promote not only getting your CCW, but practicing a consistent high percentage of carry.

For now, however, we need to be vigilant and not let the bad guys win.

More to come…
