Welcome to Concealed Wisconsin!
A podcast about Guns, Wisconsin, and YOU! | What is a Podcast?
A podcast is a lot like a radio program. It is a convenient way to get information, entertainment, and breaking news to subscribers, but a podcast delivers the content on-demand. You choose when and where to listen to the show!
It seems like a long time ago, but on July 8, 2011, Wisconsin witnessed a historic day. Governor Scott Walker signed the Wisconsin Personal Protection Act (Concealed Carry) into Wisconsin law in Wausau, WI.
On November 1, 2011, with enthusiasm brewing, Wisconsin became the 49th State to recognize a private citizens’ right to carry a concealed weapon for self-defense – while retaining the right to openly carry a firearm.
Looking back in time, gun owners and self-defense experts agree that the law isn’t perfect, but it is one of the better laws in the country. Crossing the finish line, so to speak, allows gun rights advocates to focus on additional rights for law-abiding citizens.
Since late November 2011, when licenses began arriving in the mail, over 184,000 residents have decided to exercise their rights in Wisconsin.
While a court decision does require Illinois to provide residents the option of legally carrying a weapon for self-defense, the state is certainly not rushing to make it easy, convenient, or affordable to exercise that right.
Concealed Wisconsin Radio will discuss concealed weapons including guns & knives, carrying weapons, and the Concealed Carry law and how it is being managed by law enforcement and the public.
We are not lawyers, judges, or government officials (thank goodness) and nothing we discuss should be construed as legal advice, counsel, or training. Concealed Wisconsin strongly suggests you read the law for your self and make sure you know it and understand it before deciding to carry a firearm.
Thanks for all your support! I look forward to connecting with you soon!
